Abstract

The main objective of this study is to understand the challenges and possibilities for the development of the agroecological fair in Lagoa Seca, state of Paraíba, based on the reports of the stallholders. The methodology adopted in the research is a qualitative-quantitative approach, the type of case study, objectives are descriptive and exploratory, having as its social locus the only Agroecological fair operating in the city mentioned. The data collection instrument was participant observation and application of a structured interview with the stallholders. With the results obtained, it was found that essential users without using pesticides, making use of natural pesticides and agroecological management techniques to combat pests and diseases, thus contributing to food and nutritional security who need and consume food. This creates more autonomy for the small farmer and enables economic growth.
