The article aims to present the historical relationship between the aspects of geography and their conceptions about geographic space. This category of analysis for a long time has undergone changes in order to adapt to each geographical approach, thus, the definition of what geographical space is changes according to the way one thinks about what geography is. In this sense, the multifaceted nature of geographic space is a consequence of philosophical and scientific developments in each geographic area and that, through the effort to translate these changes through a history of geography, it can then be temporally demarcated from the foundation of geography as a modern science in the 19th century, in its historical-materialist dialectical conception and even in physical geography with the theory of geosystems.
