Abstract

This article has an objective to realise an analysis comparative of the vegetation cover from the Parque Municipal do Cinturão Verde and the others urban forests of the downtown area of the Cianorte located in the North of Paraná. Therefore, investigates how the green areas are spatially distributed, considering the occupation index of the population of several selected urban sectors. The Green Areas Index (IAV) was used to synthesize the analyzes. The results obtained showed that Cianorte has a higher index of vegetation coverage per habitant than that suggested by the Sociedade Brasileiras de Arborização Urbana (SBAU), however, this vegetation is not evenly distributed throughout the city.
