ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS, SOLID WASTE AND ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY: SOME CONSIDERATIONS
Abstract
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this paper is to present what is meant by environmental quality, what are its main characteristics and to what extent improper disposal of solid waste can cause environmental risk. It is a theme that presents different approaches, perspectives and involves discussions relevant to various sciences. In this sense, given the multiplicity of works on this subject, the methodology of this work consisted in the search and reading of academic papers and books that addressed the concepts of environmental quality, solid waste and environmental risks. This discussion is very pertinent in the context of geographical production, in that it relates both the common elements to physical geography and the existing discussions in human geography, in order to contribute to studies related to urban and environmental planning.
