AN ANALYSIS OF STUDIES OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GENDER AND WORK: the scientific production in the principal journals of administration between 1991 and 2015

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the scientific production about the theme of the relation between gender and work, seeking to present the peculiarities related to the state of the field of research in this area. For this purpose, a survey of the scientific production about the topic was analyzed in five important journals of Administration that presented relevant works in the period between 1991 to 2015. As a result, it was possible to identify the scarcity of works in this field of studies, besides the fact that the majority of the works published in periodicals or annals of scientific events had predominant authorship of the feminine gender, evidencing that, possibly, it is the public that is more interested in the approach to the theme of gender and work, which can be explained by the implications of the exploration of the theme in the life of this public.
