Abstract

The urban environmental quality may indicate the socio-spatial inequalities of the urban environmental by considering the social, economic and environmental factors. This article uses a methodology that deals with the quantification of social-environmental indicators by using spatial analysis techniques. According to the characteristic of the city the Nova Andradina, state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the following indicators were selected: roofing types, income, environmental sanitation, air temperature and vegetation density. By using the AHP technique (Analytic Hierarchy Process), in the Spring 5.2 application, which consists of combinatorial analyzes among the indicators, a programming routine with the weight of each one was generated, and the processing was performed in LEGAL (Map Algebra Language) within this same application, which resulted in the maps of the Urban Environmental Quality of the Nova Andradina. In general, the city showed a regular environmental quality, according to the criteria and procedures used. This result is directly related to environmental sanitation due to the presence of residences with a sewage system via a rudimentary cesspit.
