SOCIAL-ENVIRONMENTAL VULNERABILITY ANALYSIS OF THE CITY OF PRESIDENTE PRUDENTE/SP
Abstract
The main purpose of this article was to analyze the social and environmental vulnerability to the occupation of the relief in the city of Presidente Prudente / SP. For this necessary to understand the various characteristics that make up the city's landscape, highlighting the following variables: slope, rocks and soil, groundwater depth, relief compartments to generate the environmental fragility synthesis chart in GIS environment. Subsequently, the chart of geomorphological compartments overlaid the social exclusion and inclusion map, which allowed the analysis of the occupant group profile analysis The results obtained were expressed in social and environmental vulnerability classes to the occupation of the relief. These presented a high socio-environmental vulnerability to the occupation of the relief, whose highlight was the city's valley bottoms. These presented a high socio-environmental vulnerability to the occupation of the relief, as the tops and the sculptures were being sculpted and waterproofed due to the way the occupation of the relief took place Most of the rainwater does not infiltrate and percolate in the soil where the urban area is located. thus resulting in a voluminous and concentrated surface runoff These waters end up heading towards the valley bottoms of the Veado stream and causing temporary flooding during rainy periods. This has caused great disruption to the population occupying the urban area of the city and especially to those residing around the canal.
