Abstract

At the beginning of the 21st century, we witnessed intense changes in the organization of the global economic space that materialized in different places. The territories of industrial production in Brazil were not on the fringes of this process of change, especially the dairy industry installed in the Northeast region of Brazil, about everything in the state of Ceará. Given the above, this text is concerned with presenting the configuration of the industrial food genre in the State of Ceará, regarding the spatial distribution of establishments, the agents that regulate economic activity, as well as, through a case study, understand the spatial circuit configuration of the production of an industrial dairy company located in a small town with regional centrality. To reach the proposed objectives, the methodological procedures were: selection of analytical, secondary and empirical variables, bibliographic and data survey; database organization and fieldwork. The study is mainly justified by trying to contribute to the reading and geographical discussion of Ceará territory in the technical-scientific-informational period, through the food industry, emphasizing themes that articulate industrial activity and space organization, in a context where interactions they are increasingly inter and multiscale present.

KEY WORDS: territorial dynamics, dairy industry, Ceará, agentes, spatial circuits of production.
