LGBTQIAP+ PLACES AND SOCIABILITY IN UBERLÂNDIA

Abstract

Sociability is the main driver of interaction and political movement for the LGBTQIAPN+ group. The construction of places, in this context, becomes the spatial bond where all mutual social influence happens. Additionally, it is in these places that the group's culture generally forms and is disseminated. The relationship between sociability and place is the backbone of this work. The objective is to identify the places of sociability for the LGBTQIAPN+ group in Uberlândia, understand their spatial distribution, and comprehend how this organization influences the group's experiences and lives. Twenty-five places of sociability were identified in the city, divided into four typologies. Besides the bibliographic review, in loco research was carried out using participant observation as a methodology, which enabled a dialectical exercise among four of the places found, distributed in two of the city's main neighborhoods: Centro and Santa Mônica. As a result, it was observed that the model of sociability significantly influences the forms and flows of these places. The location of these spaces is a crucial factor in the plurality of subjects present, as the interaction between them is affected by the social markers that traverse their bodies.
