About the Journal

The Bioscience Journal (ISSN 1981-3163) is an online open access and peer-reviewed scientific publication of the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Accepted works are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, in English, using an article-based continuous publication model with annual editions.

 

Mission and Scope

The Bioscience Journal is an interdisciplinary, open-access, peer-reviewed electronic journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality Original Research Articles and Literature Reviews. Our scope covers a wide range of topics in Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Health Sciences, with a strong focus on works exploring the interfaces between these disciplines.

  • Agricultural Sciences: Includes research on agronomy (plant breeding, soils, plant physiology, seeds), animal science (nutrition, genetics, animal management), veterinary medicine (animal health, clinic and surgery, pathology, inspection of animal products, and public health), phytosanity (pest and disease control), agricultural biotechnology, agricultural engineering (including remote sensing and precision agriculture), and themes related to environmental impact on food production.
  • Biological Sciences: Encompasses studies in cellular and molecular biology, microbiology (including oral, environmental, and industrial aspects), biochemistry, physiology, zoology, botany, ecology, and biodiversity, as well as pharmacology and toxicology based on natural products and experimental models.
  • Health Sciences: Addresses various areas of dentistry (endodontics, orthodontics, aesthetics, periodontics, dental materials, oral and maxillofacial surgery, collective oral health), public health and epidemiology (infectious diseases, surveillance, quality of life), clinical studies (biomarkers, endocrinology, neurology, immunology, urology), and nutrition, in addition to studies with psychosocial impact and investigations on antimicrobial resistance.

We especially value works that promote the advancement of knowledge in interface areas, such as One Health, food security, biotechnology applied to health and agricultural production, bioinformatics in biological and health contexts, and the study of natural products with biomedical and agricultural applications.

Our target audience includes students, professors, educators, researchers, and scientific professionals in general. The mission of the Bioscience Journal is to disseminate new knowledge, contributing to the development of science nationally and globally, promoting the exchange of knowledge among various areas of expertise.
