Abstract

This essay seeks to discuss a few possibilities for a theory of history that is engaged with our times problems based on a number of Hayden White’s work. Thus, in a context that combines consolidation of neoliberal rationalities, expansion of necropolitics against specific population groups, and ascent of fascist movements and modes of government, the text offers perspectives for repositioning the theory of history as a critique of the present.
