“A room by one’s own”: multidimensions of image/sound under a queer feminist perspective

Abstract

The article presents a brief history of the relationship between feminist criticism, queer studies and film analysis (audiovisual). At first, draws the contribution of queer theory to feminism and how the discussion crosspass gender studies in Brazil. Secondly, develops an analysis of narrative and visual techniques in film, considering the local context in relation to aesthetic and political cross-border formulations between the 70s and today. The article highlighs three documentaries produced by Rita Moreira and Norma Bahia Pontes, released in 1972-1976.
