Abstract

This article assesses the impact of process automation on the operational efficiency of a real‑estate development company based in Uberlândia, Brazil. Using system integration via APIs and RPA as a central premise, it demonstrates how automated workflows reduce errors and increase productivity. The analysis draws on literature concerning digital transformation and competitive advantage, adopting a qualitative single‑case study that combines questionnaires, participant observation, and internal documentation. The investigated company operates an integrated digital ecosystem comprising an ERP, a collaborative platform, a customer‑service bot, and intermediary tools responsible for orchestrating automated scripts. Among the routines examined, the automated issuance of the “Nada Consta” compliance certificate and the inquiry of lot availability stand out, with execution times substantially reduced after automation. The collected data show time savings, fewer manual errors, and the redeployment of staff to analytical tasks, while also revealing challenges related to technical training and resistance to change. It was observed that the company does not yet employ formal performance indicators; gains are assessed empirically, indicating an opportunity to establish metrics that consolidate results over time. The study concludes that automation, when planned in line with corporate strategy and sustained by a culture of innovation, strengthens organizational competitiveness, requiring continuous monitoring to expand benefits and foster new data‑driven, continuous‑improvement processes.
