The right of access to information in the brazilian digital Society

Abstract

This research focuses on the study of the fundamental right of access to information, focusing on its historical evolution and public policies aimed at protecting it in contemporary times. To this end, a descriptive bibliographical review is proposed, with the theoretical contribution of legislation and doctrine, in order to satisfy the question-problem “How does the fundamental right of access to information happen in contemporary times?”. The information society makes use of technology to transfer knowledge instantly, replacing industrial production with the creation of knowledge, thus, access to information becomes an important fundamental right in the globalized context. After obtaining these new technologies, the subject will be able to equip himself, however, access is still hampered because socioeconomic inequalities impose difficulties on free access to information. However, the contemporary context perceives information as the main marketing and economic objective, thus, state intervention is imperative in the sense of universal access to information and, consequently, to digital technologies and means of communication.
