Abstract

In the 21st century International Law is constantly confronted with risk elements which cross borders, whether in terms of their creation or effects. In this context, International Catastrophe Law (ICL) is a branch whose primary function is to coordinate international responses in an efficient way to manage these risks. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze what would be some of the present challenges to this innovative approach imposed by the current global scenario and by International Law itself, in view of the characteristics and objectives proposed by this new branch.
