The article aims to investigate the current scenario of the conditions of access of Brazilian students to the internet, verifying if there was, in a satisfactory way, the monitoring of classes through remote teaching (EAD) in the period of social isolation caused by the Covid-19 virus pandemic. The choice of topic is justified due to its legal and practical relevance, especially because the disease has not yet been eradicated, and, although face-to-face teaching has been progressively resumed, the impacts of months away from school institutions are still incalculable. Through bibliographic and documentary research (analysis of reports on internet access in Brazil), it was demonstrated that distance learning, as the only alternative, is questionable, given that a large portion of students do not have sufficient access to digital media, which violates the constitutional principle of equality and the fundamental right to education.
