This article aims to explain the interrelationship of sustainable development goals (SDGs) 8 and 10 of the United Nations 2020 Agenda for Sustainable Development with theoretical apparatuses interconnected with decent work and the reduction of inequalities addressed by Van Parijs e Vanderborght, Seyla Benhabib e Martha Nussbaum (basic income, capabilities and " rights of others”). That is, how these theories contribute in the perspective of reducing inequalities, motto of the Agenda. Therefore, it will be studied about the rupture of the philosophical project of modernity, the advent of multidimensional sustainability, SDGs 8 and 10 and the theoretical apparatuses interconnected to decent work and the reduction of inequalities. As a result, it is understood that despite the crisis of the philosophical project of modernity, the State is still an important actor in the implementation of policies to promote equality and reduce poverty, and that solid and fair institutions that guarantee rights and do not discriminate national and non-national are pillars of a new paradigm that puts SDGs 8 and 10 into practice, promoting decent work allied to economic growth.
