The World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020 announced, worldwide, the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19). In order to prevent the spread and reduce the impact of the crisis on health, social isolation was essential. Thus, it warns of the consequences that the necessary measures to face the virus and how they would affect the issue of domestic violence, in particular, against women. In view of this, governments are charged with the obligation to protect victims, indicating and implementing urgent measures. The objective of this study is to analyze the context of the official records presented in the State of Rio Grande do Sul on cases of violence against women during the period of social isolation, between the months of January to June 2020 and to verify which are the actions developed by the Public Administration of Rio Grande do Sul, to combat and prevent cases of domestic violence against women during the pandemic. In this sense, the deductive approach method and bibliographic and documentary research techniques are used. Given this context, it can be said that the inconsistency of state data on crimes of domestic violence against women demonstrates the existence of underreporting, this answer is probably the result of the difficulties of access to justice by women in the face of the circumstances in current situation caused by the pandemic.
