Abstract

This essay has as main objective to study the provisional measure 959/2020 proposed by President Jair Bolsonaro, to analyze the conditions that must be fulfilled so that it becomes permanently integrated into the Brazilian legal system, as well as its consequences. To this end, the motivations behind the General Data Protection Law (LGPD, in the Portuguese acronym) and the law proposals that provide for the extension of the entry into force of the legislation will be studied. Finally, the provisional measure and the conditions legally provided for its inclusion in Brazilian legislation will be studied.
