The present article aims to demonstrate the advances and shortcomings, in the municipality of Uberlândia, about the administrative process of register of intangible cultural heritage, in reference of the aspects of popular participation. Therefore, departed from the legislation, both federal and municipal, about the register and the registered goods in Uberlândia, through a bibliographic procedural methodology of deductive nature. Before that, it was found in what way the fomentation to a register process more democratic and participative is determinant to a better management of the intangible cultural heritage policy in this municipality, which is valid to the others federative entity.
