Much of the literature on organizational routines focuses on stability and changes in the operational activities of organizations. Complementarily, this work emphasizes that organizational routines can also influence strategic investment decision-making processes. Through literature review, a Theoretical Model of Decisions Supported by Routines (MTDAR) has built to advance the understanding of how capital-intensive companies can build their organizational routines that will influence strategic investment decision-making processes; and how organizational routines can alter the routines themselves that will influence decisions.
