Poverty or Poverties? A Discussion about the Multiple Approaches of Poverty
Abstract
Abstrat: Since the poverty subject became more important, around the Century XVIII, the conceptual debate was limited to the question of its absolute or relative characteristic and of the minimum conditions of survival. However, the prominence given in the last years to poverty is followed, in the most diverse studies, by the magnifying of its conception. It is seen each time more as a phenomenon of multiple dimensions and complex, with different approaches. This work argues about how this idea of multidimensional poverty was conceived, giving emphasis to four main approaches - income, basic necessities, capacities and social exclusion.Downloads
