The Evolution of Development Paradigms
Abstract
Abstract: This paper aims to present a survey of the economic thinking evolution for the development process. The analysis starts with the interventionist policys of the 50's and 60's and goes through the changes of the economic environment at the 70's and the liberal consensus of the 80's. The exchange and financial crisis at the 90's and their implications to the developing countries are studied in order to introduce the emergence of a new paradigm that gives emphasis on institutional arrangements.Downloads
