Abstract

This article aims to analyze the academic works that addressed the issue of punk in Southern Brazil in the first decade of the 21st century. It advances elements related to their emergence, regional insertion and specificities in the cities of Curitiba, Guarapuava, Londrina, Porto Alegre, and Uruguaiana. The article is based on studies by Everton de Oliveira Moraes, Nécio Turra Neto, Angélica Silvana Pereira, and Carlinhos Knierim de Almeida, who contributed their research to identitary debate on punks in Brazil.
