II - the use of methods from another field of knowledge that offer an advance for management research in private, public and non-profit organizations; and / or
III - the dialogue between the practices of the Administration and the practices of non-scientific knowledge of the arts, popular traditions, experiences and practices of individuals in and with the world that generates new fields of research in Administration.

MiP publishes theoretical and empirical papers, essays, book reviews and technical (bibliographic) notes, as follows:
I - theoretical and empirical papers: the purpose of the paper must go beyond a simple description and offer theoretical, methodological or practical advances. Studies with the sole purpose of describing a managerial practice, the application of a model or a managerial tool will not be accepted. The papers must present a consistent articulation between the main purpose, theoretical framework, methodology (when applicable) and analysis of results, and a concluding section emphasizing the research implications. Theoretical and empirical studies must attend the purpose of scientific development in the field, taking into account the international literature.
II - essays: the aim of the essays should be the debate and the non-conformity in relation to philosophical positions. Regarding the form, the essay must be an authorial text (personal position of the author) and written in a didactic language, with a freer structure. Unlike the theoretical article, the essay contemplates the defense of a thesis by convincing and persuading in favor or against an idea, a theory, a method or another. The purpose of the essay is to provoke a reflection on issues in the field of study and not to offer results of a given research. In the essay, through the arguments (they must be presented in a sequence and there must be a relationship between them), the author will dialogue with the reader, presenting reactions of agreement or disagreement with the thesis defended.
III - book reviews: the objective of the review is to offer a guide for readers about a scientific production in the field of administration. The review must go beyond the simple review of books, to offer not only a description, but also a critical analysis of the material that will be put into question. The review must: (1) identify and present the reviewed material (title, information about the author's trajectory and other works, information about the translator and other bibliographic data); (2) briefly inform the structure of the reviewed material (size of the book, chapters and sections); (3) present a summary of the work; (4) to critically analyze the importance of the work and to compare it with other productions on the subject (scientific contribution, theoretical, methodological or practical advances) for the knowledge of the Administration at a Brazilian and / or international level; (5) indicate the reading public and the benefits that reading the reviewed work may or may not offer to that audience; (6) present the references used to produce the review.
IV - technical (bibliographic) notes: the objective of the bibliographic note should be to communicate and inform, in a summarized manner, the publication of material that offers a substantial contribution to the knowledge in administration. Unlike the review, the note does not analyze the material.
Peer Review Process
The evaluation process considers the merit, form and content of the submissions in three stages:
I - in the first stage (desk-review), the editor will analyze if the paper follows MiP editorial policies for publication, including questions of form and content. The initial screening also includes a plagiarism analysis. If approved, the article will proceed to the next step. If the article is not approved in the first stage, it will be returned to the authors. The authors can make the changes and submit it to the journal again. In the first stage, the editor-in-chief and the associate editors expects to communicate to the authors the results of the admission review (desk-review) in 15 days;
II - in the second stage, the article will be evaluated by peers (peer-review), using the double-blind review method. The article will be evaluated by two referees from the Scientific Committee or ad hoc referees who will assess the merit of the work. The referees will have a period of up to 4 weeks for the presentation of their evaluation;
III - in the third stage, the Editor-in-Chief analyzes the reviewers report together with the Associate Editors and send a decision to the authors. For papers accepted with restrictions or subject to changes indicated by the reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief, the authors will have a period of 3 weeks to send a new version, the same period will be given to the referees for the second round of evaluation. If necessary, the adjustment / modification stage can be repeated until a final approval or disapproval report, with the conclusion of the process by reviewers and editor. In cases of non-approval, the authors will be notified and the process will be closed. In cases of approval, when the evaluation concludes on the merit of the article, the authors will also be communicated and the article will proceed to the final editing.
At the stage in which the author submits a modified version of the study, they also need to send a response letter, without identification of the authorship. The response letter must be addressed to reviewers and to the editor-in-chief with detailed information on the changes made (or not made).
For accepted papers, the authors will be asked to inform the title of the article, the names of the authors, institutions, address for correspondence, telephone and e-mail.
In any event, the ethical and scientific responsibility of the papers published by the journal lies with the authors.
