Abstract
This study aims to present insights derived from debates held during the Facilities Management (FM) postgraduate program in São Paulo, from September to December 2023. Students were tasked with developing critical reflections following lectures by senior professionals on the topic “Challenges, Risks, and Opportunities in Third-Party and Contract Management”. Content analysis revealed significant concerns, with preliminary findings indicating that weakened internal management processes and insufficient application of the life cycle concept in contracts contribute to negative outcomes, such as legal insecurity. Third-party management, a strategic tool vital to organizations, is among the greatest challenges in the Brazilian FM sector, particularly following the enactment of the Outsourcing Law No. 13,467 in 2017. High turnover rates, combined with job insecurity, have further complicated the field, underscoring the need for urgent discussions around this issue.
