Influence of domestic violence against children and adolescents on their school performance in Mozambique

Domestic violence against children and adolescents is an undeniable reality worldwide, especially in African countries such as Mozambique, with immeasurable social impact for its victims, both physical and psychological, and can manifest itself in the short, medium and long term. deadlines. The motivation for the study was due to the fact that these victims are mostly children and young adolescents of school age, and the possibility of this impact directly or indirectly influencing their teaching and learning process, compromising the reach of the attributions of the Ministry of Education in terms of eradicating illiteracy. The present study aims to identify and analyze the perceptions and feelings of teachers, guardians and school managers about the type of violence mostly practiced and what has been the consequences of this on the teaching and learning of these small victims, in addition to understanding what has were the procedures he took after detecting children with evidence of this violence allegedly inflicted by parents and guardians. For the operationalization of this research, bibliographic research, document analysis and informal conversations with some social actors who daily deal with and intervene in the teaching and learning process were used, collecting ideas, opinions and perceptions about the impact of this violence. It is believed that the violent history of the child not psychologically accompanied, leads him to develop violent behavior and difficult social insertion in the future.
