Brazil is the world's largest consumer of pesticides and the relationship between agrochemicals and non-transferable chronic diseases is paradigmatic. Toxicological tests points to the alarming contamination by pesticides of foods available in the consumer market. Based on a human right approach to adequate food, the objective is to analyze the bills in the National Congress that discuss the use of pesticides. Using analysis methodology, a search was conducted using the "pesticides" writing in bills that are being processed on the website of the Chamber of Deputies, in order to qualitatively analyze how the proposals intend to change the regulations in force or create new standards. In this way, the "Poison Package" and the National Agrochemical Reduction Policy were chosen as objects of analysis, due to their peculiarities. It was concluded with regard to the bills being processed in the National Congress, the National Policy on Pesticide Reduction should be applauded while the controversial Poison Package represents a step backwards and translates into the possibility of worsening the context of violations of human and fundamental rights, because its purposes is to facilitate the use and commercialization of pesticides in Brazilian territory.
