Abstract

The present study has the theoretical purpose of analyzing the low female representation in politics as an obstacle to be overcome in the Brazilian democracy. It is well known that it is necessary to discuss gender parity as a strategy to eliminate existing obstacles that prevent women from living equally in the Brazilian political scene. Women are more than half the Brazilian population, but currently occupy only 10% of the Legislative Houses in our country. Thus, we will analyze the role of women in the scenario of Brazilian politics, as well as the importance of parity of female participation in the National Congress, and the egalitarian ideal of women in Brazilian politics, in order to propose a mechanism for overcoming gender inequality Which prevails in the political sphere of our country. To reach these results, the research will make a bibliographical approach through an analytical methodology, using books, articles and doctrines to better understand the theme.
