Criterios para la Evaluación de Riesgo de Los OVGMs

Resumen

This paper focuses on the criteria for risk assessment of Genetically Modified Organisms used as crops. The reviewed data considered the issues used by countries from the block of the South (Mercosul) and proposes a harmonization rule in order to minimize difficulties during the trade of crops already approved by the Biosafety authority of the country. The common technical issues used to check safety during risk analysis process were considered as the basis for the evaluation process. With those criteria in mind the countries of the South's commercial block will be working on a common basis to make the decision on import or export a genetically modified crop.
