DIMENSIONS OF A DRYING CHAMBER OF A SPRAY DRYER FOR PRODUCTION OF GREEN BANANA FLOUR

Abstract

This paper presents a study to calculate the diameter of the drying chamber of a spray dryer to produce 25 kg/h of green banana flour from the data obtained from tests of an experimental spray dryer, which were used the following variables: rotation of the atomizer, temperature and flow; the mass of dried product was defined as response. From the sample with the highest amount of mass it was calculated the diameter of 4.67 m and the height of 8.72 m. Keywords: green banana, flour, project, drying chamber, spray dryer.
