About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Journal of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), a semi-annual publication, currently classified as Qualis A3 (2017-2020) by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPQ, in portuguese), available in print (ISSN 2177-4919) and electronic (ISSN 2178-0498) versions, is intended to disseminate the academic production of professors and academics of the Faculty of Law "Prof. Jacy de Assis", being also open for the dissemination of unpublished articles sent by national and foreign collaborators.
The editorial line of the journal is linked to the concentration area of the of the Masters in Law of UFU's "Prof. Jacy de Assis" Law School entitled "Fundamental Rights and Guarantees", which is divided into two research lines, namely "legal protection and public policies" and "society, sustainability and fundamental rights". In this sense, the Journal aims to publish articles linked to these subjects, according to different perspectives and methodological approaches, either of Public Law or Private Law, as well as contributions from related areas.

Journal History
Throughout its 50 years of existence, the Journal of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Uberlândia has been dedicated to disseminating scientific research and research in the field of Law, the democratic debate on legal and political issues of great importance, in addition to stimulate reflection, imagination and criticism within the scope of Brazilian legal thought.
To describe its brief history is also to portray the history of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Uberlândia, which copletes in 2020, sixty years of existence, with its activities of graduation and extension consolidated and recognized as of great relevance, along with the solid strengthening of academic research with the continuous advancement of the Master's course, the only stricto sensu graduate program in activity in a public institution of higher education in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, currently with its 7th group of Master's students in progress. The first edition of the magazine was launched in 1972, under the same nomenclature that currently designates it - "Journal of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Uberlândia". In 1978, it was renamed "Journal of the Law School" - a name it held until 2006, when it was then renamed again "Journal of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Uberlândia" ("Revista da Faculdade de Direito at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia"), being published only and exclusively online.
The semiannual periodicity was definitively adopted from the year 2010, however, sparse years also had semiannual publications, such as 1972, 1973, 1977, 1978, 1985, 1997, 1998 and 1999. In addition to the printed editions published over the years, since 2006 the Journal publishes online. Currently, the journal is indexed in the Electronic Magazine Editing System (SEER, in portuguese) of the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT, in portuguese) and all articles submitted are evaluated by the double blind review system by reviewers from various Brazilian federative units.
The published articles are pertinent with the thematic orientation of the journal - Fundamental Rights and Guarantees, coinciding with the area of concentration of the Master of Law program. Exogenesis is also present in the composition of the Editorial Board, composed of professors from various higher education institutions in Brazil, as well as the ad hoc evaluators, who colaborate with the double bllind review of the articles submitted to the Journal. A similar concern is observed with regard to the capture of articles, whose authors, mostly Ph.D's, represent several Brazilian and international research centers.
UFU Law Journal does not charge for the submission of articles, nor for the publication.
