Abstract

Presents edition n. 1 of vol. 49 of the Journal of the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Uberlândia, expressing that academic writing is not only an open space for dialogue, but also a place where the right to freedom of expression can be realized, as it allows for the promotion of dialogue and plurality, avoiding the standardization and uniformity typical of a society that still suffers from colonial remnants, and which, therefore, proves to be a proper way for the development of cultural hybridism, considered a way to break with imposing hierarchies and colonialities, which often reproduce ideas and lead to an epistemic closure.
