DO ARADO AO BORDADO: MUDANÇAS NO TRABALHO DO HOMEM DO SERTÃO

Resumo

RESUMO: Este estudo discorre sobre a mudança realizada pelo homem sertanejo de atividade rural, especificamente da agricultura, para uma nova ocupação no trabalho, o bordado. Esse, definido socialmente até a atualidade, como um lugar dominado pelo gênero feminino. Trata-se de um estudo sobre o fenômeno que envolve reflexão acerca das relações de gênero, trabalho e identidade. O cenário dessa transição passa-se no sertão, localizado na região nordeste, de raízes históricas predominantemente patriarcais e de pouca mobilidade social para aqueles que ali se encontram. Para efeito de estudo, baseou-se numa abordagem metodológica qualitativa, sendo priorizada a etnografia e a fenomenologia. Os resultados nos revelam a adaptabilidade motivada pela sobrevivência, além de uma tolerância e pouca resistência aos modelos que se apresentam como fonte alternativa de trabalho no sertão. ABSTRACT: This text discourses about the change carried by the man of the countryside, specially of agriculture, for a new occupation, the embroidering. This occupation is socially defined, even in the present time, as a place dominated for female gender. The study deals with the phenomenon that involves a reflection about gender relations, work and identity. The scene of this transition takes place in the backwoods, located in the northeastern region of Brazil, a place with predominantly patriarchal historical antecedents and little social mobility for those that live there. The study it was based on a qualitative methodological boarding, being prioritized the ethnography and the phenomenology. The results reveal the adaptability motivated for the survival, beyond the tolerance and little resistance to the models that present as alternative source of work in the backwoods.
