Abstract

Currently the incidence of wall loads on slabs is increasingly and there is no simplified method of calculation to determine the bending moments generated by this kind of load on two way slabs. In order to propose an analytical model for this problem, some numerical simulations using the finite element method have been applied, in a way that the numerical results served as basis for the development of the proposed method. It was analyzed all combinations of restrains for the supports (fixed or pinned), variations between the spans (rates of 0.5 to 2.0) and variations of the wall load on the slab. The results were validated using the numerical simulations and also the Theory of Plates for the configuration of four edges simply supported. The proposed equations are simple, easy to apply and presents very satisfactory results. Keywords: Slabs, Bending moment, Finite Element Method.
