Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world, but has troubles in adding value to its production. As a result, the country has been losing market share. The objective of this study is to analyze the Brazilian coffee complex exports and highlight possible solutions for the Brazilian coffee industry. IVCR and CMS models were used to understand the Brazilian coffee scenario in the global market and to point out some opportunities for Brazil. Two policy suggestions are discussed: i) green coffee imports (drawback) and; ii) certification, which would help to obtain greater profitability and gains for coffee farmers.
