Pobreza na Região Norte do Brasil: Uma análise multidimensional usando os dados da Pesquisa de Orçamento Familiar

Abstract

The main objective of this paper, was to conceive a new poverty profile for the North Region of Brazil from a multidimensional aspect, expliciting the situation of rural area. It was use thedouble-cutting method of Alkire and Foster (2011), which allowed estimating the amount of poverty, together with its intensity, on households in the North of Brazil. It’s possible to have a better understanding of poverty, given the possibility of knowing, about what else contributes to their formation, which opens up margin for the adoption of priorities within the framework of public policies to minify poverty.
