Abstract

This research aims to characterize and classify the difficult degree of the trails of Lajedo do
Bravo area, in the countryside of Boa Vista, eastern side of the Cariri microregion (in the
state of Paraíba/Brazil), in order to organize the local geotourism activities. The
methodological procedures applied in this study consisted in (1) a theoretical review of the
thematic; (2) interview with a local resident and main guide; (3) a visit in loco, for this, it has
been used stopwatch, compass, clinometer, digital camera and GPS Map Garmin CSX 60.
After collecting the data, the trails were classified by degree of difficulty according to the
proposal of Silva (2016). Three main trails were identified in the site namely the Trilha da
Muralha, Trilha da Lagoa da Laje and the Trilha da Furna dos Tapuias, all of these are
considered easy to development, according to methodology. The touristic activities carried
out in the area presented as an improvised nature, bearing in mind the absent of established
criteria for the realization of the trails in accordance with the geoenvironmental
particularities.
