Abstract

The research aims to identify the main factors in the decline of the textile park of Alagoas parallel to the restructuring of the textile park of Sergipe, and to consider the motivations in the installation of textile factories in certain cities of Sergipe. These are neighboring states with similar socioeconomic dimensions and a historical process that allows some approximations. The beginning of the 21st century marks the temporal cut of the research. Due to the fact that it is a complex industrial sector, the spinning and weaving textile mills are not in the process of being abandoned, and that they do not rule out vertically integrated companies, that is, they integrate the productive stages of processing the fibers into the production of a particular textile article.
