DINÂMICA DA ESTRUTURA DA PAISAGEM DA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO JAURU/MATO GROSSO

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the dynamics of landscape structure and its influence on the fragmentation of the Jauru river basin in Mato Grosso, which is part of Amazon, Cerrado, and Pantanal biomes. Landsat 5 and 8 imagery were used and the following processes were performed: image registration, mosaic, clipping, segmentation, supervised classification, data quantification and elaboration of thematic maps. Landscape metrics was generated using the software Fragstat. Results have shown changes in all vegetation classes from 1986 to 2016 as well as a reduction of 61.65% in vegetation cover due to the increase of agricultural activities. Anthropic use has contributed to fragmentation of the vegetal cover in which the greater number of fragments, isolation degree and fragment shape variation indexes were observed in the Amazon biome. These factors have contributed to the increase of edge effects. The suppression of vegetation cover that has taken place for the last thirty years is therefore a consequence of agricultural activities, whose impact was accentuated in areas of the Amazon biome.
