Editorial Team

The editorial team of the Bioscience Journal is composed of dedicated professionals specialized in their respective fields, who work to ensure the quality, integrity, and efficiency of the editorial process in different roles.

 

  • Editor-in-Chief: The primary person responsible for the journal's entire editorial policy and general supervision of the publication process. Responsibilities include initial scope evaluation of manuscripts, final decision-making on article acceptance or rejection (based on Associate Editors' and reviewers' recommendations), management and development of the editorial team, promotion of the journal nationally and internationally, and ensuring adherence to best practices in publication ethics.
  • Editorial Office: Plays a fundamental administrative and support role in the editorial flow. Responsibilities include initial verification of manuscript compliance with journal standards (desk review), management of the online submission system (OJS), communication with authors, reviewers, and editors for administrative matters, and technical support related to the editorial process. The Editorial Office assists the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors in workflow management.
  • Associate Editors: Renowned specialists in their thematic areas within the journal's scope. Under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief, their responsibilities include managing the peer-review process for assigned manuscripts in their specialty, selecting and inviting qualified ad hoc reviewers, critically analyzing reviewer reports, communicating with authors regarding requested revisions, and providing final recommendations (acceptance, rejection, or need for revision) to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Advisory Board: Composed of prominent specialists in the knowledge areas covered by the journal. Responsibilities include providing strategic advice to the Editor-in-Chief on editorial policy, scope, and development, acting as ambassadors for the journal in their networks, attracting high-quality manuscripts, and, in some cases, assisting in dispute resolution or evaluating specific manuscripts as requested by the main editorial team. Editorial Board members may also be invited to act as ad hoc reviewers in exceptional cases or to ensure anonymity in internal submissions.
